We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Places – Building Solutions team based in London.

Location: Gerrards cross - London and Buckinghamshire
Hours: 08:30 – 17:00

This is an exciting opportunity to join Kier Places – Building Solutions, where we focus on delivering high-quality projects including refurbishments and re-cladding of high-rise buildings. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of projects, working collaboratively with clients and teams to ensure successful delivery. Our portfolio covers projects predominantly between £5m - £15m, where we have a strong track record of excellence.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Commercial team, supporting them in maximising project profitability and ensuring commercial excellence. Your day to day will include:

  • Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin through effective contract and subcontract placement and control
  • Assessing, reviewing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks whilst implementing group policies for risk management
  • Compiling, placing and managing subcontracts, material and plant orders within delegated authorities
  • Measuring, valuing and agreeing work progress to support customer invoicing and supplier payments, maximising cash flow
  • Building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with customers, consultants and the supply chain

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have clear communication skills with experience of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and the supply chain
  • You hold relevant qualifications such as a Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or have substantial experience in a similar role
  • You possess strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • You can work confidently both as part of a team and using your own initiative
  • You're comfortable using a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke software
