Step into a role where your expertise truly shapes the success of a nationally significant project. As a Senior Agent on the multi‑million‑pound M6 Lune Gorge scheme, you'll take the lead on some of the most technically demanding highways and structures work in the region. This is your opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with National Highways and leading delivery partners, driving engineering excellence while influencing the early stages of a major infrastructure programme. If you're ready to take on complex challenges, lead high‑performing teams, and make a meaningful impact on a landmark project, we want to hear from you.
About the project
You'll support early-stage delivery of the M6 Lune Gorge project, working collaboratively with National Highways and delivery partners. This role involves client liaison, sub‑contractor management, and stakeholder coordination, with a strong emphasis on experience in large-scale structures and bridge projects.
Location: Tebay, Cumbria
Contract: Permanent Fulltime 45 hours per week
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum plus benefits including private healthcare, £6,700 annual car allowance and subsistence (if required)
Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior Agent you will plan, schedule, and manage engineering resources to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, to specification, and with a focus on quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability. You'll also be expected to uphold all Kier Group policies, particularly relating to SHEQ and risk management, while promoting the company's values.
Your day to day includes:
- Reporting directly to the Project Manager while providing oversight across site operations, ensuring high standards of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ)
- Managing design, pre-construction, construction, and close-out activities to meet all contractual requirements
- Supporting the Construction Manager and site team, providing thoughtful leadership and resolving complex issues
- Monitoring resource usage to deliver the project to budget and programme, working collaboratively with the wider project team
- Providing mentorship to junior staff while coordinating multiple work fronts and enhancing team capabilities
We are unable to offer certificate of sponsorship to any candidates in this role
Essential Requirements
The role of Senior Agent is ideal if you have:
- A relevant construction-related Degree or HNC, with proven experience delivering highways and infrastructure projects
- Strong competency in Temporary Works, especially those involving structures and bridges
