We're looking for a Senior Planner to join our Nuclear business team based in Suffolk.

Location: Suffolk
Hours: 45 hrs per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role

Kier is currently involved in a major energy project delivering a nuclear grade power station and infrastructure on one of the UK's largest projects. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our team, working initially on a project through to completion, then working on further nuclear projects within our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks business unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of large scale reinforced concrete construction and work within an NEC contract environment.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Planner, you'll be working within the Nuclear business team, supporting them in delivering all programme and project controls outputs. Your day to day will include:

  • Constructing and managing the fully integrated master programme, phase sequence plans, and weekly priorities,
  • Producing programmes for acceptance, impact programmes, project controls dashboards, and detailed reports,
  • Analysing project metrics and rates of work to ensure key programme dates can be tracked with accuracy,
  • Supporting the commercial team to produce accurate forecasts based on labour resource and materials forecasting,
  • Establishing and maintaining internal and external project controls reporting, and evaluating supply chain programmes.

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Planner is great for you if:

  • You have NEC contract-based planning experience and are familiar with reinforced concrete frame building techniques,
  • You possess excellent working knowledge of Planning Software, particularly Primavera P6,
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships,
  • You can think logically, work methodically, and meet challenging timescales,
  • You're experienced in preparing visual management reports using PowerBi or similar platforms.

Would you like to work with a talented and friendly team? Then we would like to hear from you!

Rewards and benefits

We're proud to be able to offer our brilliant people a wide variety of benefits that you can tailor to your needs. You can see more information of benefits here.

Diversity and inclusion

Making Kier a diverse and inclusive place to work is a huge priority for us. We're proud of the steps we've taken so far, but we know we must always do more. Our employees are key in shaping Kier's diversity and inclusion initiatives and our people have made a huge impact on how we work, by using their experiences to shape our policies. You can see our D&I action plan here.

As a Disability Confident employer, we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants that meet the minimum criteria for this role will be offered an interview.

Due to the nature of this role, you will also be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (applicants with convictions will be treated on a case-by-case basis. We do not discriminate based on an applicant's conviction history or the details of any convictions disclosed to us). Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks.

We look forward to seeing your application to #joinkier. #LI-PS1
