Senior Planner

We're looking for a Senior Planner to join our Bedford to Cambridge team based in St Neots. As part of our planning team, you'll use your expertise to support construction delivery teams and influence the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. This role provides a strong platform to further develop your planning techniques while making a meaningful contribution to projects that shape local communities.

Location: St Neots, PE19 6WL - remote working available, with minimum presence per week at the office required
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 42 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per year + private healthcare + £6.7k annual car allowance + excellent benefits

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Planner, you'll be at the heart of programme development and monitoring, working collaboratively with delivery teams and senior stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.

Your day to day will include:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed programmes using P6, including progress updates and resource management
  • Running planning meetings with delivery teams to capture progress and identify potential delays
  • Creating clear reports and visual presentations for senior leadership and clients
  • Supporting commercial teams with contract management and change implications
  • Establishing monitoring techniques to demonstrate team performance through dashboards and trackers

What are we looking for?

The Senior Planner role is suited for candidates with:

  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering in roads, structures, and earthworks, with knowledge of design survey works desirable (inc.; ground investigation, archaeology trenching and building/structural surveys, etc)
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 for resource management, float path analysis, and S-curve creation
  • Ability to interpret baseline data and provide actionable insights
  • A relevant CSCS card and working towards or holding a professional qualification
  • Effective communication skills and experience collaborating with diverse teams
