Senior Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail team based in Oxford.
Location: Oxford Station, Oxford
Hours: 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Oxford Station team, supporting them in taking responsibility for the Quantity Surveying function on allocated projects, maximising quality of service and profitability. This is an excellent opportunity to lead commercial activities whilst developing strong relationships with clients and suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
Your day to day will include:
- Managing all aspects of subcontractor accounts and procurement to secure maximum sustainable value
- Preparing interim valuations, final accounts, and monthly applications for payment to clients
- Leading cost control activities, ensuring profitability is delivered and working closely with site teams
- Compiling and agreeing variations, managing the project risk register, and identifying opportunities
- Supporting and developing junior surveyors whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have strong experience working unsupervised in managing subcontractor accounts and preparing valuations
- You're confident in cost control, using performance indicators to drive profitability and mitigate risks
- You have a working understanding of contract conditions and payment processes
- You enjoy building collaborative relationships and working closely with teams, clients, and stakeholders
