We're looking for a Senior Site Manager to join our Mayfield School team based in Dalkeith.

Location: Mayfield School - Dalkeith
Hours: 42.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

The Senior Site Manager will be aligned with a £47M new build education facility in Dalkeith. Working closely with the project manager, you'll take a key role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of the project, making sure that supply chain partners are working to Kier standards. This is an opportunity to lead and develop a team while managing a significant education project.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Site Manager, you'll be working within the Mayfield School team, supporting them in the safe and timely delivery of the project. Your day to day will include:

  • Ensuring sub-contractor partners deliver work packages including groundworks, drainage, structural frame erection, roofing, cladding and interior fit out safely and to quality standards
  • Reviewing risk assessments and method statements to ensure safe and appropriate working methods
  • Co-ordinating site logistics and the movement of plant and labour around site while maintaining safety
  • Delegating duties to the site management team and managing the development of junior Kier staff
  • Creating, logging and filing site reports accurately and in a timely manner

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Site Manager is great for you if:

  • You have experience from a similar role within the construction industry and have worked within a main contracting environment
  • You demonstrate excellent communication skills and have influencing skills to build relationships with on-site sub-contractors
  • You have a sound understanding of safe site operations and solid technical understanding of a wide variety of construction packages
  • You hold a relevant construction qualification (HND/Degree/SVQ or Technical Trade), SMSTS 5 Day Cert, and CSCS Card
  • You have First Aid certification

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
