We're looking for a Skilled Operative to join our Anglian Water team based in Norwich

 

Location: Norwich, Norfolk


Hours: 45 hours per week 

 

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

 

This is an exciting site-based, multi-skilled role where you'll deliver a wide range of mechanical and civil engineering activities across both water and water recycling environments. Working safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard, you'll be part of a collaborative team committed to delivering high-quality solutions.

 

What will you be responsible for?

 

As a Skilled Operative, you'll be working within the Anglian Water IOS team, supporting them in delivering infrastructure projects across water and wastewater treatment environments.

 

Your day to day will include:

  • Carrying out daily point of works risk assessments and ensuring compliance with all operational site health, safety, and quality requirements
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and inspection procedures to deliver works accurately to specification
  • Placing and finishing concrete, setting out and installing formwork, and constructing underground chambers
  • Operating mechanical plant safely, including excavators, rollers, and dumpers, while working accurately to heights and levels
  • Excavating trial holes and using Vac-Ex techniques to safely locate buried services, and undertaking medium-risk confined space works

 

What are we looking for?

 

This role of Skilled Operative is great for you if you hold:

 

  • Knowledge and experience within the water industry, including an understanding of clean water and wastewater networks and treatment processes and operational environments
  • Experience working on water or wastewater treatment works, with familarity of site operations, safety controls, and working alongside multidisciplinary teams
  • Valid CSCS or EUSR card, demonstrating compliance with industry competency and safety standards
  • Proven pipe laying, drainage and deep drainage experience, including trench support and excavation safety, and installation to specification
  • Good understanding of legislative and corporate health, safety, quality, and legal requirements, including risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
  • Good IT skills with the ability to use work-based applications on mobile phones or tablets for reporting, permits, and daily records
  • Full driving licence with flexibility to travel to operational sites as required
  • Confined spaces training, or a clear willingness to complete the required training to meet site and safety requirements
