Skilled Operative

We're looking for a Skilled Operative (Civils/Mechanical) to join our Anglian Water team based in Norwich, Norfolk.

Location: Norwich, Norfolk

Hours: 45 hours per week

This is an exciting site-based, multi-skilled opportunity where you'll contribute to delivering a wide range of mechanical and civil engineering activities across water and water recycling environments. You'll work safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard, with absolute adherence to health, safety, quality, and performance standards. All works comply with water industry regulations and meet approved standards.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Skilled Operative, you'll be working within the Anglian Water IOS team, supporting them in delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Your day to day will include:

• Attending safety briefings and carrying out daily risk assessments to ensure safe working practices
• Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications to support effective delivery of works
• Installing and operating mechanical plant, formwork, shoring systems, and excavation works to required standards
• Constructing underground chambers and completing pipe laying and drainage activities in line with specifications
• Contributing to timely project delivery within budget while promoting environmental controls and water hygiene requirements

What are we looking for?

This role of Skilled Operative is great for you if you hold:

• Knowledge and experience within the water industry, including clean water and wastewater environments
• Experience working on water or wastewater treatment works, with familiarity of site operations, safety controls and working alongside multidisciplinary team
• A valid CSCS or EUSR card, demonstrating compliance with industry standards
• Proven pipe laying, drainage, and deep drainage experience, including trench support and excavation safety
• Experience within Mechanical, Civil Engineering or Construction industry, contributing to site-based delivery of infrastructure projects
• Good understanding of legislative and corporate SHEQ and legal requirements, including risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
• Full driving licence with flexibility to travel to operational sites as required
• Good IT skills and can use mobile applications for reporting, permits, and daily records
• Confined spaces training, or willingness to complete the required training
