We're looking for Surveyors to join our New Connections team based in Redruth & Exeter.

Location: Redruth, Cornwall or Exewater, Exeter
Hours: 45 hours per week, overtime available

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a New Connections Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in delivering accurate surveys that ensure our clients and customers receive a first-class service. You'll be working independently and collaboratively, contributing to our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in health, safety, environmental and quality performance.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Surveyor, you'll be working within the New Connections team, supporting them in delivering exceptional service to South West Water and their customers. Your day to day will include:

  • Planning and completing accurate New Connection surveys, ensuring all information is gathered before attending site
  • Maintaining excellent customer communication and delivering outstanding service throughout the survey process
  • Conducting pre-connection inspections and trench inspections, feeding back detailed information promptly
  • Working safely and in line with all procedures, completing risk assessments and permits as required
  • Providing support and mentorship to other team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise

What are we looking for?

This role of Surveyor is great for you if you have:

  • A full driving licence and are proficient with IT programmes such as Word, Excel and databases
  • NRSWA Operative training and a strong understanding of highways, traffic management and permits
  • Solid working knowledge of potable water network connections and hold relevant qualifications (EUSR National Water Hygiene, SHEA Water, Safe Control of Mains Connections, Cable Avoidance Training)
  • Excellent communication skills and enjoys building relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders
