Transport Technician
We're looking for a Transport Technician to join our team based in Wellingborough Depot, Northamptonshire. In this role you'll support our multi-site operation by providing an efficient and effective transport and plant support function.
Location: Wellingborough Depot, Northamptonshire – hybrid working
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per year + excellent benefits

What will you be responsible for?
As a Transport Technician, you'll be working within the transport and plant team, supporting them in maintaining efficient fleet operations across multiple sites. Your day to day will include:
- Managing and reviewing routine vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure compliance
- Coordinating with depot teams, suppliers and workshops to manage vehicle defects and bookings
- Conducting vehicle and driver gate checks, including weight checks as part of our audit process
- Assisting with the review and collation of drivers' hours paperwork
- Processing vehicle and plant costs through the finance team whilst delivering excellent customer service
What are we looking for?
This role of Transport Technician is ideal for someone who:
- Has a good understanding of transport and fleet compliance, including Operator Licensing, transport regulations, and Health & Safety requirements.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and produce clear, professional written documentation.
- Is confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, to manage data, reports, and operational information.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, responding proactively to challenges and finding efficient, practical solutions.
- Holds a full driving licence and is willing to travel occasionally between operational sites when required.
