Electrical ICA Engineer
We're looking for an Electrical / ICA Engineer to join our Thames Water Major Projects team based on our Maple Lodge site in Rickmansworth.
Location: Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As an Electrical/ICA Engineer, you'll be providing LV Electrical, Control & Automation, and PLC & SCADA engineering expertise for industrial projects within the water industry. Working as part of our Thames Water Major Projects team, you'll collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality solutions for new and existing infrastructure across the region. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional with a proven track record in managing Electrical ICA works on major projects.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Electrical / ICA Engineer, you'll be working within the Thames Water Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering electrical and ICA engineering solutions for water treatment projects. Your day to day will include:
- Reviewing and providing constructive feedback on LV Electrical and ICA documentation, including MCC/RTU electrical schematics, control philosophies, and SCADA architecture drawings, ensuring compliance with water industry asset standards (WIMES)
- Representing Kier at client meetings and conducting technical reviews of electrical and ICA installations and commissioning works on site
- Conducting fault finding and system configuration for MCC and ICA equipment including PLCs and control panels, and overseeing installation of communication networks
- Attending Factory Acceptance Tests for MCC/RTU builds, SCADA and PLC control software, ensuring products meet all design criteria and operational requirements
- Engaging with the supply chain to provide innovative proposals and supporting contractors whilst ensuring company standards in health & safety, environmental, and quality are maintained
What are we looking for?
This role of Electrical / ICA Engineer is great for you if:
- You hold an HNC qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering, or a similar discipline
- You have experience in ICA engineering, PLCs, HMIs, Profibus networks, and SCADA installations on large-scale water treatment works
- You possess a good knowledge of Low Voltage large motor control centres and associated ICA sections, and understand various communications protocols such as Profibus, Modbus, and Ethernet IP
- You have experience of contractor management and setting people to work safely, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team
- You hold a Full driving licence and have knowledge and experience with WIMES and UK water industry standards
