Environmental Project Manager

We're looking for an Environmental Project Manager to join our East West Rail team based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.  In this role you'll play a key role in delivering environmental surveys for the East West Rail contract. Could this be you?

Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire – occasional remote working available
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 42 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per year + £6,700 annual car allowance + private healthcare + excellent benefits

What will you be responsible for?

As an Environmental Project Manager, you'll be central to coordinating survey activities, working collaboratively with technical specialists, survey teams, land access experts and subcontractors to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of environmental surveys, from initial planning and scheduling through to completion
  • Acting as the key coordination point between land access teams, technical leads and specialist subcontractors
  • Monitoring progress against schedules and budgets, managing risks and addressing issues proactively
  • Ensuring all survey activities meet environmental, safety and rail compliance standards
  • Building strong relationships with clients, landowners and stakeholders, maintaining clear and consistent communication throughout

What are we looking for?

This Environmental Project Manager role could be a great fit for someone who brings:

  • A degree in Environmental Science or Sustainability (or equivalent in experience) and relevant experience
  • Associate or Member status with a recognised professional body such as IEMA
  • Experience managing environmental surveys or projects within major infrastructure or similar environments
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities effectively
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with clients, technical teams and wider stakeholders
