Environmental Project Manager
We're looking for an Environmental Project Manager to join our East West Rail team based in St Neots, Cambridge. In this role you'll play a key role in delivering environmental surveys for the East West Rail contract.
Location: St Neots, Cambridge – occasional remote working available
Hours: 42 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per year + £6.7k annual car allowance + private healthcare + excellent benefits

What will you be responsible for?
As an Environmental Project Manager, you'll be at the heart of coordinating survey activities, working collaboratively with technical specialists, survey teams, land access experts, and subcontractors to ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Your day to day will include:
- Overseeing the end-to-end delivery of environmental surveys, from planning and scheduling through to execution
- Acting as the central point of coordination between land access teams, technical leads, and specialist subcontractors
- Monitoring progress against schedules and budgets, proactively managing risks and resolving issues
- Ensuring all survey activities comply with relevant environmental, safety, and rail standards
- Liaising with clients, landowners, and stakeholders to maintain clear communication throughout the project
What are we looking for?
This Environmental Project Manager role would be a great match if you bring:
- Ideally a degree in Environmental Science or Sustainability (or equivalent), along with at least three years' relevant experience
- Associate or Member status of a recognised professional body such as IEMA
- Experience managing environmental surveys or projects within major infrastructure or similar environments
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams and priorities confidently
- Clear, effective communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with clients, technical teams and wider stakeholders
