Location: London offices, with travel to London sites
Hours: Full-time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Lead Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the design delivery process across our projects. Working closely with senior colleagues, you'll ensure that every aspect of design coordination meets the highest standards whilst supporting the development of excellence within your specialist area.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Lead Designer, you'll be working within the project team, supporting them in delivering high-quality design outcomes across all disciplines. Your day to day will include:

  • Providing technical leadership for your assigned function, ensuring best practice is applied throughout all project stages
  • Building a centre of excellence through training, development plans, and mentoring team members
  • Managing the design and quality of a portfolio of projects, working collaboratively with sector leads and directors
  • Line managing design managers and acting as a career mentor, supporting their professional growth
  • Conducting regular site visits to review design programmes and ensure all parties are meeting their commitments

What are we looking for?

This role of Lead Designer is great for you if:

  • You have experience undertaking site audits and carrying out project reviews
  • You can demonstrate substantial experience in a design role within a main contractor environment
  • You're familiar with BIM level 2 projects, including COBie data and LoDM
  • You have strong leadership qualities and enjoy supporting others' development
  • You hold a full driving licence

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
