We're looking for an Operative to join our Southwest Water team based in Exeter.

Location: Exeter
Hours: 45 per week

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

We're seeking an Operative to help us deliver clean water mains and services schemes across the region. In this role, you'll be working on our Southwest Water contract, installing new water mains, new services, and undertaking repair and maintenance services to provide reliable, efficient, and high-quality drinking water across Devon and Cornwall. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that makes a real difference to communities every day.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Operative, you'll be working within the Southwest Water team, supporting them in delivering essential water infrastructure projects. Your day to day will include:

  • Undertaking planned work installing assets from water services to large diameter mains
  • Ensuring water quality standards are met and hygiene processes are followed
  • Working within timescales to reach targets whilst maintaining productivity levels
  • Updating relevant documentation on each job using a tablet
  • Taking responsibility for personal and site safety, ensuring full and correct use of vehicles, plant and materials

What are we looking for?

This role of Operative is great for you if:

  • You hold a Full driving licence
  • You have a CSCS Card and EUSR Water Hygiene Training (or are willing to obtain these in the role)
  • You're ready to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • You can work to timescales and targets whilst maintaining quality standards
  • You're committed to following safety procedures and creating an inclusive workplace
