Premises Officer
We're looking for a Premises Officer to join our Lewisham PFI Schools team based in Lewisham.
Location: Lewisham PFI Schools, Lewisham
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
The Premises Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the optimal functioning and safety of school premises. This position requires proactive management of tasks, rapid response to issues, and effective coordination of maintenance activities. You'll assist in the day-to-day delivery of services within the PFI contract, while adhering to health and safety regulations and fostering a culture of environmental sustainability.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Premises Officer, you'll be working within the Lewisham PFI Schools team, supporting them in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming school environments. Your day to day will include:
- Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly quality checks of the premises to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality
- Carrying out minor repairs such as replacing light fixtures, fixing leaky faucets, patching walls, and repairing door hardware
- Maintaining security by opening and locking gates, doors, and windows, and patrolling the site to deter unauthorised access
- Assisting school staff with tasks such as furniture moving, large display mounting, and repairs to classrooms and equipment
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment by identifying and reporting hazards, ensuring fire safety equipment is maintained, and clearing ice and snow from pathways
What are we looking for?
This role of Premises Officer is great for you if:
- You have previous experience in premises management, facilities maintenance, or a related field
- You have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations with the ability to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate measures
- You're proficient in performing routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and general upkeep to ensure a safe and functional environment
