You'll play a central part in improving how we capture, define and deliver business needs, bringing consistency, clarity and quality to everything we do.

Working collaboratively across Kier Transportation, you'll have the opportunity to influence meaningful change, streamline processes, and ensure our teams are set up for success from the very start of delivery.

Location: Nationwide – hybrid working
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: from £42,000 per year + private healthcare + £5,900 annual car allowance + excellent benefits
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll be part of our Business Systems team, playing a key role in translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements that keep our complex infrastructure projects moving forward with confidence. Working closely with stakeholders and delivery teams, you'll help bring clarity to challenges, ensuring solutions are well-defined, aligned and ready to deliver real impact across our projects.

Your day to day will include:

  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather, clarify and document business requirements through workshops and discussions
  • Translating high-level requests into structured, development-ready requirements and user stories
  • Acting as the key liaison between business users and development teams to refine and validate requests
  • Producing and maintaining high-quality documentation including process maps and acceptance criteria
  • Supporting testing activities and continuous improvement of requirements gathering processes

What are we looking for?

This Senior Business Analyst role could be a great fit if you bring:

  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within a software or IT environment, with a strong understanding of delivery in these settings
  • A natural ability to bring clarity to ambiguity, turning ideas and requests into clear, structured outputs with real attention to detail
  • Confidence building relationships with stakeholders at all levels, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • An inquisitive, proactive mindset, with a genuine passion for collaboration and working as part of a team
  • Experience working with modern software delivery approaches, such as Agile
