Senior Estimator
We're looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Nuclear, Rail, and Aviation team based remotely.
Location: Remote working available, with travel to the office/site as required.
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
Due to the sensitive nature of the sites, security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
As a Senior Estimator, you'll play a pivotal role in securing new projects across nuclear, defence, railway, and aviation sectors. Working remotely with flexibility, you'll lead the estimating process from initial tender through to handover, ensuring accuracy and commercial success. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects whilst contributing to our business growth objectives.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Estimator, you'll be working within the Nuclear, Rail, and Aviation team, supporting them in securing new work and maximising commercial opportunities. Your day to day will include:
- Leading the estimating process from receipt of client documents through to handover to the delivery team
- Preparing structured quantities and pricing work under various contract forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Managing supply chain strategies, appraising quotations, and selecting appropriate suppliers in collaboration with the procurement team
- Presenting estimates at bid team meetings and settlement reviews, whilst identifying key risks and opportunities
- Supporting and developing junior team members, managing workloads to meet exacting tender deadlines
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Estimator is great for you if:
- You hold at least a degree or HNC in construction or civil engineering, with professional qualification (CEng MICE, MCInstCES, or MRICS) preferred
- You have extensive experience as an Estimator with a major civil engineering contractor or as a Senior Estimator with Tier 2 contractors
- You possess excellent communication skills and thrive as a collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- You have a solid understanding of contract forms (NEC, ICE, FIDIC, NR) and strong commercial awareness
- You're proficient in Excel and either experienced with RIB Candy estimating system or eager to learn
