Senior Planner

We're looking for a Senior Planner to join our Nuclear business team based in Suffolk.

Location: Suffolk
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier is currently involved in a major energy project delivering a nuclear grade power station and infrastructure on one of the UK's largest projects. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our Nuclear business team, working initially on a project through to completion, then working on further nuclear projects within our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks business unit. Hybrid working is available, but you will be required to be on site at least 3-4 days per week.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Planner, you'll be working within the Nuclear business team, supporting them in delivering all programme and project controls outputs under an NEC contract. Your day to day will include:

• Constructing and managing the production of fully integrated master programmes and phase sequence plans for the project
• Producing programmes for acceptance, impact programmes, weekly lookaheads, project controls dashboards, reports, and programme narratives
• Analysing project metrics to ensure key programme dates can be tracked with accuracy and displayed in project dashboards
• Supporting the commercial team to produce accurate forecasts based on labour resource and materials forecasting with reference to programme
• Updating and monitoring progress within a programme against contract requirements and evaluating supply chain and subcontract programmes

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Planner is great for you if:

• You have NEC contract-based planning experience and are comfortable dealing directly with clients
• You are familiar with reinforced concrete frame building techniques and methodologies
• You have significant planning experience and a thorough understanding of programming techniques and production rates
• You have excellent working knowledge of planning software and competency in the use of Primavera P6
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can work collaboratively to build effective relationships across teams, clients and stakeholders
