Senior Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Shropshire Term Service Contract team based in Shrewsbury. In this role you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of essential road maintenance schemes for Shropshire Council.
The Shropshire Term Service Contract encompasses a wide range of activities including surfacing, surface dressing, drainage, structural repairs, winter maintenance, emergency response, and street scene services.
Location: Shrewsbury - hybrid working
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £42,500 - £47,500 per year + private healthcare + £5,900 annual car allowance + benefits

What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be involved in pricing schemes, managing valuations, processing payments, and preparing final accounts.
Your day to day will include:
- Managing the pricing of capital maintenance schemes including surfacing, surface dressing, drainage, and structural repairs
- Overseeing cost management for winter maintenance, emergency response, and street scene activities
- Assessing valuations, calculating payments, and managing the performance of allocated subcontractors
- Contributing to month-end Cost Value Reports and helping to identify issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Supporting the commercial team with other duties as required from time to time
What are we looking for?
This Senior Quantity Surveyor opportunity would suit someone who brings:
- A strong background in quantity surveying, with extensive experience in a similar environment
- A degree in a commercial, construction, or related discipline
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel and digital tools to support commercial insight and reporting
- Well-developed numerical skills, coupled with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to build strong working relationships and contribute effectively within a team
